Professional Statement
Prof. Byakika is a passionate Senior Orthopedic Consultant with over 35 years of experience. He pioneered arthroscopic surgery (knee, hip and shoulder joint surgery) and many other innovative orthopedic surgery techniques in Kenya and the East African region.
He is also a senior lecturer at JKUAT University and enjoys offering continuous medical education (CME) talks to his fellow peers in the field of Orthopedics. He has made many presentations and conferences in these areas of interest to his colleagues.
Prof. Byakika’s main areas of interest in orthopedic surgery are Arthroscopy (Surgery) of the knee and shoulder, Traumatology (management of fractures in particular), Surgical reconstruction of the knee, hip, and shoulder.
